the dutch design team at autobahn recently did a project titled, ‘wij kunst’ or ‘district art’. the project took place in the town of utrecht, in an area with a large population of arabic immigrants. after noticing the amount of satellite dishes in the area, the designers set out to bring the natives and immigrants closer through the satellites. their solution was a set of stickers which could be applied onto a satellite dish, transforming it into an icon, instead of an eyesore.
